Rincon Consultants, Inc. is seeking an experienced Safety Manager who will have direct responsibility for the design, implementation, adoption and management of a company-wide safety and health program that integrates the use of a best-practice EHS system to be identified and implemented by the selected Safety Manager. This position reports to the Chief People Officer and is the lead for the COVID-19 Response Team.

What Do You Get To Do In This Position:

  • Assures compliance with Federal, State, and local safety, health and environmental regulations to include applicable Cal-OSHA and OSHA safety initiatives for our field operations.
  • Assesses and minimizes the risk of injury to people and/or liabilities arising out of accidents or environmental exposures in or associated with the workplace and project sites in which Rincon operates.
  • Evaluates, recommends and implements a comprehensive EHS management software for our industry and is based upon past experience with such systems.
  • Creates or leads improvement and modernization of Site-Specific Health and Safety plans to mitigate and/or eliminate risk of injury and/or illness to include direct management of the Rincon Illness and Injury Prevention Program.
  • Manages the ISNetworld database and provides required health, safety, quality, risk and regulatory information, as needed, to meet or exceed client requirements.
  • Coordinates the development of safety, health, accident loss control and environmental protection strategic business plans to cover short-range operating periods of one to two years and goals for continuous improvement over long-range periods of three years and over.
  • Provides professional technical assistance and motivation in the formulation, continuation and adoption of safety, health, loss control., environmental protection, property conservation, security, and motor vehicle safety programs.
  • Develops and maintains benchmarking standards that will permit meaningful measurement of Rincon's effort to meet safety, health and environmental objectives.
  • Develops safety, health and environmental protection training programs and materials required to qualify loss control/environmental protection personnel in the areas of technical competence, plan implementation and training, and motivational techniques.
  • Analyzes and evaluates the capabilities of individual and organization-wide safety, health and environmental protection operations at any stage in the development of such operations.
  • Manages the safety, health and environmental staff and provides both assistance and backup for the various assignments of projects.
  • Assesses environmental liabilities and recommends and directs the appropriate remediation action.


This Job Might Be For You If You Have The Following:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or five years of relevant experience to include multi-site locations and field operations (e.g., forestry, desert, marine, and other terrains)
  • Ability to travel without restriction to our offices and varied field locations throughout the State of California
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and using an EHS system
  • Excellent communication skills

Desired:
  • Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Proven ability to drive change in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization
  • Experience with construction related, professional services, and environmental work.
  • Experience implementing company-wide EHS software and tracking systems, experience with remote applications/mobile friendly safety software, and/or experience with lone worker safety management.
  • Knowledge of operational excellence methodologies and tools (e.g., Six Sigma)
