The Woodland Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas: Electrical Wiring, Carpentry, Building Construction Technology, Culinary Arts, Advanced Training - Culinary Arts and Hotel & Lodging. We also assist students with job placement upon completion of their educational and career technical training.

Woodland Job Corps Center is looking for a Safety and Security Manager who is a seasoned professional with a passion for ensuring the safety and well-being of others. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in safety protocols, emergency preparedness, and a commitment to creating a secure environment for our students and staff. Responsibilities:

  • Safety Program Oversight:
    • Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs and protocols to minimize risks and hazards on campus.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential concerns.
  • Emergency Preparedness:
    • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring effective coordination and communication during crises.
    • Conduct drills and training sessions to prepare staff and students for various emergency scenarios.
  • Security Operations:
    • Manage and coordinate security personnel to ensure the safety and security of the campus.
    • Monitor access control systems, surveillance cameras, and alarms to detect and respond to security incidents.
  • Investigations and Reporting:
    • Conduct investigations into safety and security incidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
    • Prepare incident reports and communicate with appropriate authorities as needed.
  • Collaboration and Training:
    • Collaborate with other departments to promote a culture of safety and security throughout the center.
    • Provide training to staff and students on safety procedures, emergency response, and security awareness.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree from an accredited school or related certifications preferred. A minimum of three years' experience in military, law enforcement and/or safety management required. OSHA Certification required. Must possess a valid in-State Driver's License and meet Company insurability requirements. DOL approval required if reporting to the Center Director. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
