Position Summary

The Morgridge College of Education is looking to hire adjunct instructors for the 2023-2024 academic year to teach a variety of graduate courses in the SchoolCounseling@Denver online program. Courses may vary. More information about the courses can be found on the Registrar's Office schedule of classes at https://www.du.edu/registrar/course/scheduleofclasses.html, under subject code COUN - School Counseling. This posting will serve for multiple openings throughout the 2023-2024 academic year.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitate live, 100-minute class meetings via the Zoom platform once a week;
  • Regularly monitor and provide feedback on student asynchronous work, as needed, via the 2DU platform;
  • Meet with students as needed to support their success;
  • Provide assignment feedback and grades to students in a timely manner;
  • Participate in program outcome and student concern/remediation activities as needed;
  • Participate in meetings with the assigned Course Lead as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in relevant content area (e.g., Counseling, School Counseling)
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Previous experience as a school counselor and/or counseling children/adolescents
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in relevant content area (e.g., Counseling, Counselor Education) from CACREP Accredited program
  • Licensed/certified school counselor
Work Schedule

While the University's administrative offices are open Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. The University's academic calendars are posted on the registrar's website (the law school is on a semester system and has a different academic calendar).

Course Rate

The course rate for this position is $750 per credit hour taught.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.
