POSITION SUMMARY:

This job consists of a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on cables and/or mechanical assemblies and subassembly units supporting next-gen manufacturing according to specifications in a medium to high complex environment.

This position is also responsible for using blueprints, schematics, wiring lists, and written instructions to assemble, rework or reassemble complex applications. You will also be responsible for operating machinery and automatic tooling. Must keep work areas clean and orderly. Performing other related duties as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble cable for prototypes and production scheduling
  • Perform closeup operation using mating fixtures, clamps and vises
  • Work with Hotmelt processing systems for wiring and cable manufacturing
  • Operate automatic wire cutting and wire stripping machines
  • Assemble electronic/electrical assembly and sub-assemblies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 3-4 yrs. progressive experience in an electronic manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient use of various hand and automatic tools, crimpers and wire strippers
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, wire lists and schematics.
  • Able to perform basic math
  • Some computer skills desired
  • Experienced in soldering, mechanical, cable and harness assemblies).
  • IPC 620 Certified helpful
  • Education/experience typically acquired through basic education and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, wire lists and schematics.
  • Ability to maintain knowledge, skills, and abilities as it pertains to your job.
  • Familiarity with hotmelt and wire cutting machines and techniques.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Employee is required to talk and hear.
  • Employee may be regularly required to stand for 2 or more hours at a time, with minimal breaks.
  • Employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.
  • Employee is required daily face-to-face interaction with employees on the production line.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled production area environment, with frequent exposure to electronic equipment. Occasionally maybe exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise
