ECS is seeking a Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect to work in our Charleston, SC / Remote office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.

Job Description:

Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect will lead the configuration management of our software products in Atlassian, to include defining, developing, implementing, and maintaining a continuous integration/continuous delivery system by optimizing highly scalable and resilient cloud-based infrastructure and software systems that power our suite of collaboration and productivity tools. Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect will also serve as a developer on the Agile team, helping to design, develop, integrate, and test target software using various techniques and methodologies. As a technical leader, will provide strategic guidance, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering practices and processes. Specialist will possess key knowledge of Atlassian products including, but not limited to JIRA Service Manager, Confluence, Zephyr, and all related products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Experience establishing and maintaining a CI/CD software development system with the Atlassian tool suite. Design and architect highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable cloud infrastructure and services using industry leading technologies.
  • Experience in systems and software requirements analysis, design, and systems integration pertaining to medium to high complexity hardware/software systems. Strong C#/Java Knowledge and experience.
  • Build, configure and administer Data Center based JIRA product from Atlassian.
  • Conduct analysis of current customized code and process flow to identify compatibilities issues and deliver resolutions. Write required code and modify existing code to integrate new add-ons with the solution and to address issues.
  • Conduct Unit and Integration testing and fix identified bugs. Work closely with Atlassian support team to address any issues.
  • Effective Systems engineering integrates people, processes, and tools to result in a system that optimally satisfies requirements, within defined constrains. Will be responsible for requirements management, product planning, agile process management, configuration management and research and development in a matrixed, agile environment.
  • Ability to build proofs of concept to demonstrate functionality along with supporting technical documentation. Develop metrics dashboards and advanced filters to provide end-users and business leadership with meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reporting.
  • Identify areas for building in process automation and design and implement solutions to improve efficiency and operations. Participate in the incident response and problem-solving process, providing technical expertise and leadership.

Salary Range:157,000-162,000

Required Skills:
  • Clearance: Public Trust
  • At least 10 years of experience managing the design, build, implementation, and operation of complex enterprise technology solutions for Federal customers.
  • At least 5 years of experience driving large scale development efforts in an agile environment.
  • Experience prescribing and implementing DevOps processes, methodologies, and tools in a Cloud environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prescribe, implement and refine processes to optimize the delivery and operation of Technology Solutions. Proficient in distributed systems design, data modeling, and event-driven architectures
  • Experience in mentoring and leading junior engineers, and a commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and productive team culture.
  • At least 4 years of experience serving as a lead requirements manager of a large-scale development contract tasked with the ingestion of customer requirements on projects of similar size, scope, and complexity.
  • At least 5 years' experience with software development concepts (i.e., scripting, encapsulation) and best practices
  • At least 5 years' experience with programming languages that include, but are not limited to, Python, Java, HTML, CSS, markdown.
  • At least 5 years' experience with data modeling concepts in relational and non-relational data stores (i.e., normalization, inheritance, relationships)
  • At least 5 years' experience with building application integrations using standard REST API interfaces or custom interfaces.
  • Experience with administering and developing software team solutions on Atlassian tools.

Desired Skills:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of Configuration Management Guidance
  • Experience with Java, JavaScript, Groovy script, SQL, JQuery, HTML/XHTML/CSS, REST APIs
  • Experience with other similar tools like ServiceNow and Tableau
  • Experience working with cross functional teams and demonstrating strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities with federal clients.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple training initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience producing technical documentation to communicate standard operating procedures and detailed analysis.
  • Experience as a software developer for enterprise-class systems comprised of multiple applications.
CERTIFICATIONS
  • Certified CompTIA, Microsoft, or related industry certification preferred.
  • SAFe Certification
