SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the following: Controls and Automated systems design and programming for major systems installation; may provide technical guidance and direction for other members of the Controls and/or Engineering staff with emphasis on troubleshooting programming and or configuration issues; works with minimal direct supervision in the maintenance of assigned systems and the development and installation of systems. This position must have significant exposure to and demonstrated proficiency in the areas of Controls programming and or Automated systems design, hardware and software requirements testing debugging and implementation. Other responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to the following: act as liaison between a business department and Controls department; perform programming and or technical support assignments as well as coach and mentor other team members; analyze and resolve Controls hardware and/or software errors in a timely and accurate fashion; provide status reports where required; develop and review design specifications for Controls applications; develop and maintain logic and code to support the business processes; create and maintain documentation for code and or configuration throughout the system lifecycle; train end users on established programs; provide on-call support and problem resolution for Controls software and hardware applications; work with end-user groups closely to assist with aligning Controls technology with department goals; assist in developing system application architecture; aid in developing scope and requirements for Controls projects for a business unit; aid in development and execution of project plans; conduct acceptance testing to ensure that the functional and business requirements are met by the provided solution.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or other related technical area. Equivalent work experience may be acceptable in lieu of Bachelor's degree.

Experience: 3 plus years of experience in Controls Engineering or related area with relevant experience in programming PLC, HMI and SCADA control systems; a background in reading electrical control schematics and wiring diagrams to develop sequence of operations and converting into automation code; be capable of making significant enhancements troubleshooting and testing existing applications. Programming experience is required.

Computer Skills: High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, as well preferred experience with Schneider/ Modicon, AB/Rockwell Automation, Siemens, or similar programming software and hardware platforms; experience in the following areas: developing, reviewing and/or modifying specifications configurations and or programs to meet process requirements; analyzing and interpreting control systems proposals and evaluating and developing alternative implementation plans.

Communication Skills: Good verbal and above average written skills; ability to communicate technical information to non-technical team members.

Special Skills: Ability to provide constructive feedback to other team members; working knowledge of relevant multi-user computer systems applications and or equipment; knowledge of current Controls/Automation technology developments and trends; extensive problem-solving skills; experience developing and executing test plans; basic project management capabilities; experience developing good working relationship with business area team members; basic SQL and data analysis skills.

Location: Onsite in Fayetteville, Arkansas (MLK building)

Travel: Some travel will be required. Amount of travel will be determined by individual project requirements
