Plan, direct and coordinate venue operations across all departments.Implement and uphold policies, daily operations and venue direction, whileoptimizing tools, resources and personnel available.

SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the company’s General Counsel, the Senior Corporate Counsel will provide business and legal support to the Company’s outstanding portfolio of golf courses and resorts, premium driving ranges, miniature golf experiences, and indoor bar and restaurant operations. Senior Corporate Counsel will interact with and support various groups across the company, with a primary focus on providing general legal advice, contract review, and negotiation services.

Experience in Commercial Real Estate, Labor & Employment, and Contract law are prerequisites.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide on-site, direct employment law advice and guidance on employee relations issues and state/federal agency matters (EEOC, DOL, OSHA, etc.)
  • Assist the real estate team, development and construction team in matters relating to existing real estate agreements and new transactions
  • Review, revise, and negotiate various agreements and contracts across brands
  • Review and approve proposed line-item exceptions to the Company’s client, contractor and staff agreements
  • Review and prepare ancillary agreements including severance agreements and confidentiality agreements
  • Review, revise, and negotiate contract amendments and extensions
  • Conduct legal research related on transactional or regulatory matters
  • Perform other duties as assigned

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Position responsibilities requires minimal/occasional travel

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • JD from accredited law school
  • Admission to the Bar in at least one state is required, Texas, California or New York is preferred
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience practicing corporate law at a law firm or 10 years of experience working as in-house counsel
  • Prior public company, hospitality and entertainment experience preferred but not required

  • Residence in Dallas, TX metro area and ability to work full-time in our Dallas office

  • Team player and consensus builder with an ability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Work extended hours as required and/or during other busy periods based on business needs
  • Ability to manage and prioritize simultaneous responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of common computer applications including MacOS and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to travel, unassisted to special events and to support major legal initiatives or proceedings.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time without assistance.
