Job Description:

The Cybersecurity and Insider Threat Data Engineer at Group 1001 will be instrumental in advancing the firm's security posture by leveraging data-driven insights to detect and mitigate insider threats and cyber risks. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in cybersecurity, data engineering, and insider threat.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data-driven strategies to detect insider threats and enhance cybersecurity defenses.
  • Build advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to identify anomalous behavior and potential security risks within Group 1001's insider population.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security data sources and develop scalable data pipelines for continuous monitoring.
  • Design and implement security data models and dashboards to provide actionable insights and facilitate proactive threat detection and response.
  • Design and implement Data Loss Prevention tooling and logic.
  • Remain current on industry trends and emerging threats to continuously enhance Group 1001's cybersecurity and insider threat detection capabilities.

Required Qualifications:
  • 7-10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on threat detection, data engineering, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in security frameworks and controls, as well as frameworks of insider threat and motivation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate technical insights into data-driven security strategies.
  • Experience with data engineering tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, Elasticsearch, Splunk).
  • Experience with insider threat toolsets, including User Behavior Analytics tools and Data Loss Prevention tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Compensation:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $200,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $270,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
