Welcome to our Durham, NC site focused on expanding and strengthening AstraZeneca's respiratory products portfolio, where we have made great strides in bringing sustainable inhaled therapies to asthma and COPD to asthma patients. Our mission and vision areis to develop differentiated therapeutics for widely prevalent respiratory disease conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), by using a proprietary drug delivery platform and existing therapeutic agents administered in metered-dose inhalers (MDIs) and dry powder inhalers (DPIs).

As Sr. Director Operations you will lead of all aspects of site operations and manufacturing for the IPD Durham site, meeting customer requirements and enable realization of the company's operations strategy. Reporting into Americas Region Operations Lead, you will be a key member of the IPD operations leadership team and deliver projects globally.
What you'll do:
- Lead and manage the Durham IPD site multi-line manufacturing operations and site facilities and safety operations.
- Ensures processes at the site are carried out in accordance with AstraZeneca's corporate values, Good Manufacturing Practices, Public Health Codes and applicable standards and laws.
- Engages others in a positive and influential manner to effectively communicates in all settings with widely varied audiences when delivering complex messages.
- Builds and supports collaborative networks across departments and throughout the operations network.
- Identifies key issues and prioritizes effectively in light of business needs and current performance opportunities.
- Creates a culture of growth, development and achievement built on AZ Values & Behaviors.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in Engineering or Science field; advanced business or science degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years professional experience; at least 10 years in pharmaceutical or life sciences industry with management experience in operations, quality, technical services and manufacturing/production.
- Experience serving as a people catalyst and creating an environment that unifies and guides their people.
- Ability to manage and perform effectively in a decentralized, matrix environment.
- Strong team and meeting facilitation skills; the ability to build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Adapt, work through conflicts, and persuasively influence outcomes.
- Effectively cope with change and is comfortable changing direction and acting without complete information.
- Strong communication, influence, and relationship-building skills, gaining respect and trust.
- Thriving in a fast-paced business environment.
- Ability to engage people in change and working with uncertainty and ambiguity.
