We are hiring for an experienced leader to join our team on a full-time, direct basis as a Senior Environmental Scientist while based at our office in the Haddon Heights, NJ area.  This person will be expected to serve as our LSRP while overseeing EHS (Environmental, Health, & Safety) projects.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prescribe, perform, and oversee site / remedial investigations as well as remedial actions in accordance with NJDEP Technical Rules & Guidance.
  • Perform Preliminary Assessments for a range of project types (e.g.:  parks, industrial sites, etc.) while conforming to Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA) standards.
  • Prepare remedial documents (site investigation, remedial investigation, remedial action workplans, remedial action reports, etc.) in compliance with NJDEP rules in pursuit of site closure.
  • Prepare remedial cost estimates and design engineering control plans to be incorporated into overall development plans.
  • Work on multidisciplinary projects with various internal divisions.
  • Manage projects; this includes preparing accurate scope & fee proposals, coordinating with / communicating project status updates to Clients, manage workloads & budgets within authorized contract amounts, request change orders (where necessary), review / prepare / submit monthly invoices to clients, and maintain A/R’s for invoices.
  • Provide mentorship to staff members and, when necessary, conduct field inspections while providing project oversight to assist the team.
  • Communicate with regulatory agencies and local government officials, as needed.
  • Attend marketing events, regulatory trainings, and other events (when necessary).
  • Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.
 

 

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Science-oriented field of study (preferably in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering).
  • 8+ years of professional experience working on Site Remediation / Due Diligence environmental projects.
  • Active NJ-Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) credential (we will consider candidates who are able to successfully obtain their LSRP within 12 months of their start date).
 

This person will be expected to work regularly in the field, so they will be required to possess a Valid Driver’s License and have a clean driving record.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional relevant certifications (e.g.:  OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER, etc.).
  • Experience with environmental documentation & regulatory submissions associated with land development and/or infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency related to a variety of relevant regulatory guidelines:  NJDEP Site Remediation Program (SRP), ISRA, USTs, UHOTs, Child Care Center Licensing, Remedial Action Permit applications, off-site source guidance, etc.
  • Proficiency on relevant technical tools (e.g.:  CADD, GIS mapping software, etc.); experience with AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS is a plus!
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong attention-to-detail skills with the proven ability to work with a high-level of accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal).
