Due to tremendous business growth a new position has been created for a Senior Internal Auditor to join our high performing Finance team in Chicago. Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager, the Senior Internal Auditor will work directly with our internal finance professionals, divisional businesses and will collaborate with our external auditors. Work will involve conducting SOX style procedures, operational, financial, investigative and compliance audit projects. The Senior Internal Auditor will assist with analysis and review of key internal control procedures, risk and control matrices, and test plans. They will also work closely with process owners and cross-functional teams to document processes and guide and direct process improvements.

RESONSIBILITIES:

• Performing risk-based internal audit testing
• Process walk-throughs with functional business partners, ensuring that flowcharts, narratives, and control design documentation meet internal and professional standards
• Perform audits in accordance with the department's policies and procedures, including focusing on key risk areas, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely review to meet audit objectives within the scheduled time frame
• Perform SOX analysis including risk assessment and identification of significant business units, key processes, systems, and accounts that will be included as part of an annual SOX plan
• Assist identify audit issues and causes and provide recommendations to improve internal controls and business processes. Ensure that corrective action plans are developed and implemented.
• Collaborate with the Company's external auditors and provide assistance as needed during the financial and internal control audit processes
• Ability to challenge the status quo and advocate for change to improve processes

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 3-4 years of relevant finance experience
• Prior experience with a Big 4 accounting firm preferred, not required
• Solid understanding of SOX, internal controls and USGAAP
• Strong process analysis, risk and control identification and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and relationship building skills
• Attention to detail
• Excellent project management skills
• Highly motivated with a positive "can do" approach
• Willing to travel, including internationally, extensively
