Senior Java Developer (Back-end)

ECS is seeking a Senior Java Developer (Back-end) to work in our Memphis, TN office.

Job Description:
Candidate will be involved with monitoring backend processes that produce delivery and carrier activity notifications. This is a complex, distributed system that often requires manual intervention after patching and maintenance of servers. Also requires some on-call, after-hours support

Additionally, candidate will investigate reports of data that doesn't make sense to the postal supervisors and explains why the alert was generated, etc. Also provides support with any back-end development tasks that involve getting data into and out of the USPS GPUdb systems. He has also been helping on PATH with the planned path business logic. Below are some additional details around the position:

• Mid-level developer position supporting large productioon systems
• Supporting the Designing, creating, and implementing distributed Java-based applications
• Participating in group meetings to discuss projects and objectives
• Assisting other developers with troubleshooting, debugging, and coding
• Meeting deadlines on fast-paced deliverables

Required Skills:

• BA Degree in computer sciences, coding, or a related field
• At least 4 years' experience in Java-based programming
• Experience coding skills in Java and frameworks like Spring
• Experience with Unix and command line
• Experience with databases like Oracle

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, Scala
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Availability for occasional after-hour patching/maintenance
