SUMMARY:

The Senior Instructional Leader assists in managing the instructional teams and services of the Instructional Services Team for the Learning Solutions department. The IL is responsible for school goal attainment, by providing evidence of effective instruction that results in student achievement, as recognized through defined learning gains and survey results. The Instructional Leader is assigned to a specific geographical area or cluster of subjects and is responsible for forecasting enrollment needs, staffing to meet enrollment needs, and supervising the teaching staff to ensure quality instruction, student achievement, and academic integrity and fidelity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Forecast enrollment and revenue for assigned area in collaboration with Sales personnel
  • Create staffing plans for instructional staff based on forecasted revenue and enrollment
  • Develop meaningful relationships with school and district staff and be recognized as an educational leader responsible for effective teaching, student achievement, and a safe and healthy environment, serving as the instructional contact for school and district administrative staff to discuss escalations
  • Serves as Team Leader and Mentor to other members of the IL Team.
  • Leads Special Projects and Models such as, but limited to, Learn Live Now, Remote Instruction, and Tutoring.
  • In partnership with the leadership and other ILs, identify and assist in designing and implementing instructional models that meet customer needs
  • Provide general leadership and be an active participant in the development, guidance, and mentorship of instructional staff by conducting regular one-on-ones and instructional-related team meetings, facilitating learning opportunities where appropriate, and supporting the creation of short-term and long-term staff development plans
  • Supervise, monitor, observe, and evaluate designated teachers and staff on their performance and responsibilities in the achievement of school goals and priorities, and provide regular and specific feedback and recognition on employee performance to produce desired results
  • Work with assigned teacher leaders to identify and meet the needs of the instructional staff
  • Serve as an instructional coach for assigned instructional staff
  • Cultivate a collaborative working environment that encourages communication, innovation, and refinement of the best instructional practices
  • Monitor the effectiveness of IST training programs as it relates to preparing and supporting online teachers through established and/or newly identified metrics
  • Review monthly progress reports and other ancillary data to identify areas of concern relative to student and teacher performance and create actionable plans to address
  • Provide regular feedback to the leadership regarding the performance of instructional staff and progress of students
  • Monitor departmental compliance with accountability measures
  • Contribute to industry thought leadership by participating in pilot programs, presenting at conferences, and contributing to literature on online learning
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrate respect for others
  • Maintain knowledge of any state law or administrative requirement for assigned areas and understanding the ramification of any changes to the operations of instructional services in their area.
  • All work responsibilities are subject to having performance goals and/or targets established
  • Collaborate with other Stride departments in support of company initiatives
  • Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned by his/her direct supervisor

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Master's Degree Required
  • Valid Educational Leadership or School Administrator Certificate/ License
  • Three years' successful teaching experience
  • 3 or more years of experience in an Assistant Principal or Principal position, or experience in a Virtual School in Supervisory-level role
  • Demonstrated experience in supervision, training, and development of teachers

SKILLS and/or QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to work with and through people to establish goals, objectives, and action plans
  • Strong knowledge of instructional and educational leadership strategies, online instructional design theories, and learning style theories
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Possesses knowledge of technical systems used within the organization
  • Highly organized with the ability to coordinate complex programs and processes
  • Works effectively as a team member and leader
  • Employs innovative problem-solving techniques to accomplish objectives
  • Possesses skills with all applicable and recommended computer applications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
  • Location: Remote
  • Frequency of travel: Some travel to either the corporate office or other locations for meetings, trainings, and conferences; will require overnight travel
  • Light physical activities and efforts required working in an office environment
Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position's level and expected contribution, and the employee's benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
  • We anticipate the salary range to be $75,000-$90,000. The upper end of this range is not likely to be offered, as an individual's compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
