What You Will Do

As a Senior Mold Process Engineer, you'll spearhead the design and enhancement of injection molding equipment, processes, and tooling, adhering to rigorous engineering standards. You'll independently tackle complex engineering tasks, from concept to execution, ensuring alignment with quality standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead technical direction and process management for Lockport molding operations
  • Apply engineering, polymer process, and materials science expertise to optimize injection molding processes
  • Develop new processes, define parameters, and evaluate auxiliary equipment requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review product design requirements and ensure molding compatibility
  • Analyze test data to refine molding processes and materials specification
  • Provide technical support for production molding, minimizing defects and optimizing cycle times
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, researching new technologies and collaborating on long-term technical strategies
  • Drive capital projects, from business case development to execution, to enhance manufacturing capabilities
In summary, you'll use your engineering skills to innovate and refine injection molding processes, making our manufacturing operations more efficient and effective.

What You Will Bring
  • 5-8 years of hands-on experience in plastic injection molding production, including optimizing molding cycle times and setting process recipes for mold tooling
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Proficiency in scientific principles of injection molding and injection mold construction
  • Familiarity with molding machine operation and ancillary equipment such as mold heaters, hot runner controllers, vision systems and robots
  • Experience leading daily meetings, presenting new equipment recommendations, and possessing excellent communication skills
  • Preferred experience with multiple types of injection molding machines
  • Preferred degree in Polymer/Plastics discipline
