What We're Looking For: 

Barge Design Solutionsis seeking to fill the position of a Sr. Pipeline Designer in to support theWater Business Unit in our GA, TN and AL offices. This position works on avariety of design projects providing seasoned solutions to Project Managers,Engineers, and others.

Responsibilities:

  • Use Civil3D engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents for gravity and pressure pipeline projects, including the use of dynamic sections.
  • Performs various assignments developing models and documents from outlines of objectives, requirements, and design approaches.
  • Obtains project information and ensures drawings are accurate and complete.
  • Plans presentations of complex items with design features that may differ from established standards. 
  • Provides seasoned recommendations for solutions to design problems. 
  • Communicates with clients pertaining to specific projects and attends client meetings
    Reviews and critiques drawings and provides a quality check on others work
    Mentors less experienced designers offering advice and knowledge to support other projects.
  • Prepares quantity estimates
  • May act as project specific lead for design work of others

 



Education & Experience Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Drafting, or equivalent, or other relevant combination of education and/or experience
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience, required
  • Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Ability to apply design knowledge to resolve project issues
  • Strong detail orientation
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and external partners
