JOB SUMMARY

A Senior Product Designer plays a central role in the delivery of Digital Health initiatives - directly responsible for overseeing the quality, creativity, and delivery. In this role, incumbent will use visual and verbal storytelling to share discoveries, gather and integrate feedback, influence, and create energy for an idea or an initiative. Key focus areas:

Design System: Define product design philosophy to lead the creative direction, build, and evangelization of the BSWH Design System.

Design Leadership: Coach and mentor other designers and consultants, providing direct feedback, critique, and strategically directing work to push the experience to the next level.

Design Craft: Design mastery in tools like Sketch, InVision, Figma, and Adobe Creative Cloud to develop new design concepts and at the forefront of defining the BSWH design language.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

Build frameworks to support a fast-paced, growing organization: UI components, custom type scale, icon library, motion library, illustration library, templates, workflows, collaboration tools, etc. for both desktop and mobile.

Translate BSWH branding into a digital design language that scales across different platforms.

Work hand-in-hand with Portfolio Leads and Product Managers to bring concepts and requirements to life.

Translate concepts and requirements into an end-to-end user experience and choose the appropriate medium and fidelity.

Build interactive prototypes to test your ideas and communicate them internally and externally.

Ability to influence design direction and decisions based on rationale, user insights, and feedback.

Perform usability tests to validate your designs with patients.

Iterate quickly and explore multiple solutions for a given problem.

Understand and continually evangelize who our users are and what they need to make informed healthcare decisions for them and their families.

Collaborate with product managers, engineers, QA, and other designers to facilitate research activities, strategy sessions, ideation, design, and testing of new product concepts.

Assist Digital Health leadership to organize and facilitate activities that keep the team sharply organized and thinking critically and strategically.

Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

3-5 years of experience in visual, interaction, or product design.

Impressive creative portfolio demonstrating awesome work, including a diverse range of projects.

Effortless communication/presentation skills, natural collaborator.

Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, and a willingness to adapt and customize them as needed.

Evangelize design best practices across mediums (responsive web, mobile).

Expert knowledge of Sketch, InVision, Zeplin, Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar tools and a strong desire to always learn more.

Experience creating prototypes that showcase multiple design concepts quickly, with an acute understanding of what customer and business problems they solve.

Ability to scope requests, develop, and communicate a level of effort, plan work in a team environment, adjust quickly to changes or new information, and escalate when necessary.

Experience working with and contributing to established brand guidelines, style guides, and code-based design systems for desktop and mobile.

Knowledge of html, css, and javascript capabilities with the ability to work closely with engineers to implement designs.

Experience delivering responsive designs across and tailored to large monitors, tablets, phones and other device types.

Ability to work from low fidelity to high fidelity.

Ability to work collaboratively within cross-disciplinary teams.

- EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
