In response to steady growth within our Water practice, we are looking for a Senior Project Manager to provide project and technical leadership and help support the continued growth of GHD's water sector presence in our St. Louis, Missouri office.

Water Services:

  • Be a key leader delivering technical water solutions, permitting, and related projects for large municipal capital improvement programs and private industrial clients that may include automotive, manufacturing food and beverage, chemical, refinery, power, oil and gas and other industrial clients
  • We are seeking leaders with experience in developing efficient technical and regulatory strategies and solutions that address our clients' specific challenges and needs
  • Evaluating the impacts of new water regulatory requirements and advise clients
  • Develop and implement compliance strategies for water resource clients
  • Support clients in responding to notices of violations, consent orders and information collection requests (ICR)
  • Experience in managing, designing, and constructing large diameter water mains, and sewer mains or water and wastewater treatment facilities
  • Managing and designing rehabilitation of large utilities
  • Provide technical recommendations for programs and portfolios as well as writing and crafting proposals for projects
For success in this position, you will possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • Collaborate with Water Market Leaders and Business Group Leaders to grow the Water business
  • Provide support to other Regions as needed - One GHD
  • Lead client meetings to discuss proposals, opportunities, strategies and negotiations
  • Maintain excellent client relationships, provide exceptional client delivery and experience
  • Develop and execute business strategies and initiatives to expand Water services to new clients
  • Work closely with other GHD leaders across the company on strategic pursuits
  • Identify and develop strategies to capture new business with major clients
  • Maintain a high profile externally and through membership/attendance in industry organizations, continually increasing contact base
  • Lead proposal development and contract negotiation to win targeted pursuits
  • Manage technical projects: manage client expectations while ensuring projects are delivered safely and within scope, schedule, and budget
  • Formulate and present proactive, strategic approaches to the proposal development process, which leverage the company's capabilities and value proposition
  • Build, grow and maintain an active list of large and/or strategic new prospects that will ensure the continuous growth of clients
  • Establish and develop strategic long-term relationships with current clients, new clients and prospective teaming partners
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with experience working effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated outstanding communication, presentation, follow-up, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Solid organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and mentor junior staff
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication plus senior level presentation and negotiation skills
  • Be flexible in your approach to challenges and have a strong ability to think laterally in delivering technical solutions
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related technical field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) in Missouri
  • 15+/- years of experience in planning, design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure. Experience in the St. Louis region and Missouri is preferred.
  • Experience in client relationship development/management and business development with strong client relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation
  • Ability to present technical information in a concise and professional manner
  • Valid driver's license with ability and willingness to travel as needed
