Alliant Energy has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Regulatory Relations & Policy Consultant to join the team in Madison, WI.

This position offers a blend of working from home, and in the Madison, WI office as needed. The selected candidate must live in Wisconsin.

We are seeking a motivated and passionate professional to develop, coordinate, and lead sophisticated regulatory policy and pricing analyses for regulatory filings before state and federal regulators, including cost allocation, tariff design and pricing in support of innovative customer solutions. In this position you will lead, coordinate, and monitor the implementation of regulatory projects and cases while collaborating with other business units. You will also represent Alliant Energy in public and regulatory forums. This position could be filled at a higher lead level depending upon candidate qualifications.

Job Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor\u0027s degree in economics, business administration, public policy, engineering or related field - preferred
- Master\u0027s degree - preferred

Experience:
- 5 years experience in regulatory affairs, energy industry, or related field - for the senior level position
- 7 years experience in regulatory affairs, energy industry, or related field - for the lead level position

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of energy industry pricing strategies, theories, and applications.
  • Ability to draft tariff filings.
  • Ability to develop short and long term regulatory policy and strategic plans and translate those plans into action.
  • Demonstrated facilitation skills, which include facilitation of issue across business units, facilitation of issues within a single business and facilitation of meetings.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, written communication skills, and effective in working within cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of energy industry regulations and business practices.
  • Demonstrated financial skills such as, accounting, and utility economics.
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).
  • Ability to interpret federal and state energy regulations.
  • Proven ability to achieve results with a minimum amount of direction.
  • Ability to think critically, overcome conventional thinking, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
