Astellas is announcing a Sr Research Associate, Cell Based Therapies opportunity at their Astellas Institute of Regenerative Medicine (AIRM) site in Westborough, MA.

Purpose:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior Research Associate to join R&D to develop and implement in vivo pre-clinical disease models and complementary in vitro cell-based assays. This individual will play critical role to advance pipeline programs. This hands-on role represents an excellent growth and learning opportunity, working closely with an experienced team in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilize broad scientific expertise to initiate, maintain, and establish preclinical assays and models.
  • Perform in vivo pre-clinical studies in accordance with IACUC guidelines.
  • Schedule and execute studies with guidance from a manager.
  • Responsibility includes mouse health monitoring, test agent administrations (IV, IP or SC), blood collections, euthanasia, necropsies and tissue harvest.
  • Assist in tissue post-processing and bioanalytical assays.
  • Perform routine cell culture and cell-based assays.
  • Assist in laboratory ordering and monitoring of experimental supplies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized data entry and analysis in timely manner.
  • Communicate results with team via oral presentations and technical reports.
  • Assist in formulating data capture forms and technical SOPs.

Quantitative Dimensions:

  • Ability to perform experiments efficiently, effectively and independently.
  • Demonstrate clear conceptual understanding of project goals, scheduling experimental design, data analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Organizational Context:

  • Report to Sr. Scientist, Research Department
  • Communicate with other members of multidisciplinary teams
