An Ideal Candidate will demonstrate a thorough understanding of a focused and disciplined approach to software engineering. This level engineer will solve complex issues associated with the creation of robust software applications that integrate into our products. Specialization in a particular product line may be expected. The scope of work is complex in nature and will consist of designing systems that are both efficient and effective.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with project teams to develop embedded software products and algorithms that address abstract and complex problems
  • Guide the design and development of sub-systems of an in-house embedded software platform and integrate major features into those systems
  • Use software tools to write complex synchronous and asynchronous communication pieces from the user interface to the hardware devices
  • Evaluate potential solutions to engineering problems for feasibility and cost effectiveness
  • Responsible for providing strong documentation and specifications on project work
  • Design and implement system level tests to validate project work include unit tests, UI automation tests, End-to-end tests, and performance tests
  • Review solutions with other engineers and managers when necessary
  • May serve as a technical lead on projects and provide work direction to other team members with respect to the project or tasks in order to meet project deadlines
  • Responsible for bringing to the project group the higher level of engineering skills coupled with the ability to work cross functionally with manufacturing, marketing and sales to move a project forward
  • Work cooperatively with other departments to develop best practices
  • Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field - If a Master's Degree in computer science or software engineering is held, substitutions may be made for the Bachelor's degree
  • 6-10 years of experience in software development
  • Experience programming C# in a Windows based .NET environment
  • Multi-threaded programming
  • Experience leading and mentoring other engineers.
  • Experience using embedded Linux
  • Database design and implementation
  • Computer communication/Networking
  • AGILE/Scrum best practices

DESIRED
  • Master's degree in computer science or software engineering

The Mono Project or .net core
  • JIRA, Confluence, GIT
  • UI/UX design
