How You'll Add Value

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) supports all global Informatics production and non-production infrastructure efforts for internal and commercial instances of Limfinity and FreezerPro. The SRE will implement new servers, upgrade and patch servers, and work with the support team, when troubleshooting customer issues.

The SRE will be expected to participate with other members of the Infrastructure and Support teams, along with software engineers troubleshooting more complex problems. The SRE is expected to maintain a safe work environment and ensure a strict adherence to all company policies and procedures. They are expected to continuously develop process improvements and work with all aspects of the business to ensure we are meeting their demands.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and optimize AWS infrastructure, including EC2, S3, RDS, and other relevant services using Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • Handle the administration of Linux systems, ensuring their stability, security, and performance.
  • Implement and maintain containerized environments using Kubernetes for orchestration.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise, ensuring high availability and reliability of our services.
  • Automate configuration management and deployment processes using Ansible.
  • Monitor and verify backups of databases and files.
  • Perform ad-hoc environment backup and restores.
  • Perform routine security and authentication measures.
  • Collaborate with development teams to deploy new features and updates to our platforms.
  • Participate in reviews of our processes and automation code.

What You Will Bring
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience with relevant AWS services and Linux (Debian/Ubuntu).
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes and containerization technologies.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform.
  • Experience automating configuration management and deployment using Ansible.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • AWS certification(s), Kubernetes certification(s), Terraform certification(s), and/or Ansible certification(s) are desirable but not required.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to think creatively, take initiative, and work independently.
  • Willingness to adapt and to learn new skills.
  • Have great attention to detail and results driven approach.
