Software Engineer

Fort Bragg, NC

Contract Position

At Moseley we are supporting the tip of the spear with our roles working directly for the prime on the SOFSA contract. The efforts of our employees are the key to the success of our military's special operation units across the globe. The prime contractor for executing the largest service contract vehicle, which provides a wide range of tailored contractor logistics support services to the Command's Special Operations Forces (SOF) service components and warfighters worldwide.

Responsibilities:

• Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; and following the software development lifecycle.
• Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
• Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
• Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.
• Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment, and by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
• Protect operations by keeping information confidential.
• Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
• Accomplish engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
• Support and develop software engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities.

Qualifications:

• B.A. or B.S. in computer science, information technology, or related discipline M.S. preferred
• Six years of job-related experience
• Six to eight years of experience as software engineer
• Experience with computer programming
• MUST BE WITHIN 100 MILES OF THE BASE
• Position is a hybrid role in the beginning but will turn to 100% onsite as of April 2024
• 6 years of experience with two or more development languages such as Java, C#, or Ruby (Java and .net preferred)
• Skillfully write high-quality, well-tested code and you are comfortable with Object-Oriented programming
• Comfortability with Agile methods, such as Extreme Programming (XP), Scrum and/or Kanban
• Enjoy influencing others and always advocate for technical excellence while being open to change when needed
• Willing and able to commit to travel to client sites in order to solve their business problems
• Resilient in ambiguous situations and can approach challenges from multiple perspectives
• Bonus points if you have working knowledge of cloud technology such as AWS, Azure, Kubernetes and Docker
