Tax Data Hub team is seeking a DevOps Engineer who will help with monthly compliance, drive Sales and Use tax retrofit, sunset and migration of data from Tax Data Warehouse and production support activities. This position will also drive automation and the simplification of processes, which will enable our engineers to spend more time "hands on keyboards" solving complex problems.

About Team:
Everyone has data, but the sheer volume of data at Walmart can be limitless. In the Data Engineering team, we help Walmart manage this data by building pipelines and data lakes to prepare big data for analysis and unlocking actionable insights in real-time. We also use cross-departmental data and machine learning to build a holistic view of true profitability, saving millions of dollars across item categories and geographies while assisting our leadership in making better decisions faster.

What you'll do:

As a Software Engineer III, you will have day-to-day responsibility for development and deployment of ETL pipelines. This includes analyze, design, develop applications. Your role will require clear communication on all potential and current project technical issues and provide future proof solutions. Additional responsibilities include evaluating application performance for efficiency and effectiveness. Role is responsible for delivering on time, partnerships with IDC and product/business stakeholders.

What you'll bring:

• Core Devops experience, CI/CD/CD, config management and cloud engineering.
  
• At least 5 years of experience in open stack technologies, especially leading ETL process.
  
• Strong experience in Python and Pyspark.
  
• Experience analyzing application logs and system performance.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on development related tasks and issues.
  
• Collaborate with the team to perform code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure high-quality code delivery.
  
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team environment.
  
• Basic financial domain expertise.
  
• Tax knowledge would be a plus.
