Position: Software Engineer III

Job Location: 640 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Duties: Participate in scalable, complex, cross-functional Walmart GoLocal Service projects by reviewing project requirements, proposing technical solutions, conducting unit testing, updating project statuses and issues to team members and stakeholders, collaborating with product teams and cross functional teams, troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes, enhancing the designs to prevent potential defects, helping with on-time project delivery and hand-offs, and communicating with project managers to provide input on project plans and to provide leadership and updates to the product team. Design, implement, and maintain the codebase of Walmart GoLocal by using the agile development process with status-tracking updates and writing technical design documents for the delivery services. Design, develop, implement, test, deploy, and maintain scalable API services and logic workflows. Design, develop, implement, test, deploy, and maintain user-friendly user interface (UI) components and responsive UI widgets for customer-facing web pages of Walmart GoLocal. Design, configure, implement, test, and deploy distributed Apache Kafka events streaming for Walmart GoLocal services with fulfillment of the high volume and low latency requirements. Create, read, update, and delete database queries with Relational databases and NoSQL for Walmart GoLocal clients and services. Design, develop, implement, test, and code deployment with the Cloud Configuration Management platform and CI/CD pipelines with unit testing from local development to the sandbox and production environment. Build and conduct end-to-end testing for various user scenarios of the Walmart GoLocal Delivery platform. Create alert systems to monitor the Walmart GoLocal Distributed production systems and services. Conduct code reviews for teammates working on both frontend UI and backend API connections. Troubleshoot and debug for business and product issues by reviewing and analyzing information and providing solutions and code fixes.

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a related field. Position does not require specific years of experience but requires listed skills.

Skills required: Experience using JavaScript and TypeScript to develop responsive frontend web applications. Experience implementing backend data fetching and infrastructures with Java. Experience developing web page layouts and modals with HTML templates. Experience using CSS and Flexbox to optimize User Interface (UI) views for desktop and mobile web pages. Experience applying configuration languages to web applications for traffic splitting and control. Experience using NoSQL and relational database to manage database systems for services. Experience implementing analytics tracking for web page components, user actions, and events. Experience implementing the server-side with Node.js and connecting it with RESTful APIs. Experience using Git, GitHub, and the JIRA platform. Experience managing projects from the technical design phase to production releases via sprint planning and CI/CD pipelines. Experience integrating unit testing and functional testing for code snippets and End-to-End (E2E) testing of web applications. Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $147,481/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
