Overview

Job Description:

The HR Operations Specialist is responsible for all receptionist duties for the reception area, including greeting visitors to departments housed in the building. Will perform telephone and personal greeting and screening, and routine dissemination of information relative to a wide variety of questions. Perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of Centra's human resource department.

Job Responsibilities:

Demonstrates an awareness of appropriate confidentiality rules and federal/state regulations concerning employment and acts accordingly. Manages front entrance by greeting persons entering establishment, determining nature and purpose of visit, and directing or escorting them to specific destinations. Operates telephone to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information and/or creating requests within the HR internal ticketing system. Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc., including assisting customers with completion of forms or online employment applications as needed; refers more complex questions to appropriate area of expertise. Performs verification of employment utilizing data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Receives subpoenas, garnishments, and DHP investigation requests and ensures all parties are properly notified. Receives, sorts, and distributes mail and faxes. Provides clerical support to the HR department, including processing HR-related files sent from individual departments to maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation. Coordinates with LGH Nutrition Services to maintain adequate inventory levels for the CSB employee self-serve c-store. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Education/Licensure:

Education Required: High School graduate or equivalent.

Education Preferred: Associates degree.

Experience Required: Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS) and similar computer applications.

Experience Preferred: Prior related office experience preferred. Prior Human Resource or payroll experience preferred.

Certification Preferred: Virginia Notary
