This role positions The Toro Company (TTC) as a responsible industry leader committed to supporting and advancing corporate social awareness, enterprise giving initiatives and active employee volunteer engagement across the organization. Plays a key role in shaping enterprise sustainability priorities, furthering DE&I initiatives, and promoting community improvement and stability through philanthropic activities.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:

  • Build key strategic relationships in communities and industries where TTC's employees live and work.
  • Lead enterprise giving initiatives and has strategic oversight, planning, management, and implementation of the Giving Program's global community, philanthropic initiatives and industry programs.
  • Design, create and implement a global strategy to advance Toro's commitment to being a positive corporate citizen with active employee engagement across our locations.
  • Manages a multi-million dollar budget ensuring equitable allocation of Foundation resources across the communities and industries we serve.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key partners to collectively advance shared priorities and initiatives for the greatest community impact.
  • Manage Foundation employee programs including the matching gift program, the corporate volunteer program and other programs the Foundation or the Company giving program implements from time to time.
  • Continually re-evaluate the grantmaking strategy that supports the overall goals of the Giving Program. Work on all aspects of grantee identification, review and administration; manage internal grant processes, budget planning and reporting.
  • Facilitate messaging to and action plans for TTC's worldwide community outreach.
  • Identify and collaborate with communications team on public relations opportunities aligned with the strategic community and giving plan.
  • Manage the Toro Employee Scholarship Program and the Melrose Employee Critical Need Fund. Promote the scholarship programs as core Toro value and benefit of employment.
  • Participate in conferences and seminars of non-profit organizations to continue development of community/business relationships.
  • Measure and provide metrics to leadership around the impact of giving efforts in our communities.
  • Perform other duties and projects as requested.

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; designation in philanthropic studies, nonprofit management, administration and leadership, or a related field preferred.
  • 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in community relations, program leadership and development in the nonprofit sector, planning, development, implementation and management of community giving engagement strategies, or other related positions.
  • 5+ years' experience in management or leadership role in the nonprofit sector.
  • Proven ability to successfully design, develop, coordinate and administer community relations programs and corporate charitable activities.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of employees, including enterprise leadership team.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks (both strategic and day-to-day operational), set priorities, and community needs within a team environment; able to work independently in a proactive manner.
  • Demonstrated success in roles requiring logical, systematic thinking while managing multiple priorities in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally; maintain relationships with stakeholders in the community.
  • Exceptional analytical, collaborative, and professional skills are required.
  • Strategic cross functional thinker with strong desire to move towards implementation and action.
  • Ability to manage a multi-million budget and work closely with the Foundation board financial advisors.
  • Must communicate tactfully with grant seekers and other organizations of the non-profit community.
