Job Description Summary

The Sr Continuous Improvement Specialist will provide focus and leadership to continuous improvement efforts and personnel development programs at Paterson. Coordinates activities across all departments to implement continuous improvements. Position reports to the Plant Manager.

Job Description

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Utilize CI methods to implement projects and measure their operational and financial impact.
  • Conduct process evaluation to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide data analysis to support CI projects, capital improvements and business opportunities.
  • Identify and help development of new product opportunities.
  • Conduct CI audits and evaluate effectiveness of sustained implementation of CI efforts.
  • Coach and development of Team Leaders and Team Members to ensure their success.
  • Work with departments to develop annual employee training plans. This should include technical skills, product or process specific training and leadership development opportunities.
  • Coordinate site training activities throughout the year.
  • Oversee Personal Qualification Requirement development, use, update and relevancy.
  • Work with HR, Safety and departmental leadership to coordinate new employee orientation to be timely and effective.
  • Site expert on Alchemy use, development and deployment.
  • Develop and coordinate training plans for projects and new equipment.
  • Develop and ensure the effectiveness of standard work across the facility based on top loss opportunities.
  • This position will lead the implementation efforts of veLOCity through established methodology working closely with corporate veLOCity implementation team.
  • Assist with setting up the pillars and getting them to functional status.
  • Perform other duties and execute projects as directed by the Plant Manager to improve Paterson Frozen Operations.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; OR two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional MS Excel skills with ability to collect, summarize and analyze data.
  • Understanding and applying safety policies, procedures, and practices for safety-related situations.
  • Must be able to distinguish normal/abnormal situations.
  • Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to stimulate Workplace engagement.
  • Must be able to work weekends and all shifts with a strong work ethic and employment history.
  • Must be a self-motivated individual that can multi-task and lead others.

Physical Environment/Demands:
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, twist, and turn frequently.
  • Exposed to outdoor and indoor environments that vary from hot to cold, exposure for up to 14 hours per workday, including loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells, and allergies.
  • Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead and in or under the equipment.
  • Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work at ground level and in high places to perform job duties-the ability to operate work-related equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders to enter equipment regularly.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate's work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $79,240.00 - $118,860.00
