You will be leading the development efforts on existing and new smart electronic locks that are part of everyday use for our customers. As a member on the development team, you will be leading and involved in developing new solutions, products, concepts, features and the integration of our smart electronic locks into our ecosystem or our partners' ecosystems. You will contribute to and be responsible for all phases of embedded firmware development. Specific responsibilities will be associated with the design, development, integration, maintenance, testing, quality and performance assurance of firmware in support of new wireless electronic lock solutions and partners' integration. The leading candidate has worked on problems and projects of diverse complexity and scope, exercised independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution, may act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitating information validation and team decision making process, able to handle most unique situations and may seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues."title":"Primary Duties & Responsibilities","content":" (45%) Develop firmware solutions for New Product Introductions (NPI), New Features or Enhancements to Existing Products inclusive of scope, architect, design, develop, test and validate, release to production and future support of solutions. (20%) Work with other technical and non-technical team members to take high level project requirements into firmware specification documents, design trade-offs, risk assessments, solutions, scope/time estimates, test and execution. (10%) Set an overall firmware architecture that spans across multiple products or product roadmap to meet the stated objectives and goals (10%) Work with other developers internally and externally on solution development and continue to optimize for code size, performance, testing and product features across all products. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Other duties as required by supervisor."title":"Education and Experience Profile","content":" BS or MS Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering 5+ years Professional software development experience required"title":"Required Skills","content":" Strong industry experience in embedded firmware/software development for microcontrollers Strong design experience in C/C++ and assembly for embedded applications Experience with chip-to-chip communication protocols or interfaces (I2C, SPI. UART, etc.) Experience writing firmware for low power battery-operated consumer devices utilizing ARM, MSP430 or compatible micro-controllers with small memory sizes. Ability to debug firmware and dive into the hardware (hardware bring up, logic probing, measuring voltages, etc.) Familiarity with issue tracking software (Jira), Collaboration tools (Confluence), and version control (Git, SVN). Organized, able to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously with varying degrees of complexity, priority and urgency. Strong sense of urgency and ownership.
