This is what you will do:

The Senior Research Associate will be a key player in driving genomic medicine pipeline project through target validation, candidate selection and IND-enabling phases using in vitro, in vivo and ex vivo studies. Important aspects of this role include excellent organization skills, flexibility, and the ability to thrive in an efficient, highly interactive, goal-oriented team environment

You will be responsible for:

  • Develop and characterize various mouse models
  • Perform PD/efficacy studies to support preclinical development of gene therapy candidates
  • Perform in vitro, in vivo and ex vivo studies to understand the mechanisms of action of therapeutics
  • Prepare, review and deliver scientific findings for internal/external use
  • Keep accurate records of research activities and experimental details
  • Compliance to animal use policy of welfare and handling

You will need to have:
  • BS/MS in pharmacology, biology or related disciplines
  • ≥ 3 years of experience in executing preclinical in vivo studies using mouse models
  • Highly skilled in animal colony management, general animal handling, compound dosing (IV, PO, IP and SC), blood collection (tail vein, submandibular/submental), euthanasia and necropsy (tissue collection and processing)
  • Experienced in tissue sample processing for molecular biology biomarkers such as DNA, RNA extraction
  • Experience in performing protein assays such as ELISA and enzyme activity is a plus
  • Experience in AAV gene therapy and genetic mouse models is strongly desired
  • Proficiency in basic software (e.g. MS office) and strong data analysis skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of team
  • Proven ability of multi-tasking, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility and aptitude for learning with a passion to drive cutting-edge science
  • Application of creativity and problem-solving skills for model and assay development
  • Strong ability to work with others in a matrixed team environment
  • Candidate must possess critical time-management skills to creatively accomplish challenging tasks in a timely manner
  • A positive "can-do" mindset
  • The duties of this role are conducted in an office environment.
