Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the streamlined operation of the Transportation area of responsibility within the Prepared Foods IT department and ensure it aligns with the business objectives of the organization. As an individual with expert knowledge in at least one major functional area such as Private Fleet Operations or Transportation Planning and a broad working knowledge of information technology is recognized as a subject Matter Expert for the existing business applications and to facilitate the definition of solutions to meet business requirements in his/her area of responsibility. This position can have system-wide responsibility on complex projects and components. The Staff Analyst will plan coordinate and direct strategic initiatives within his/her area of responsibility that enhance and enable strategic business and or technical capabilities. In close collaboration with the Sr. Staff Architect this position will develop drive and support cost-effective initiatives supporting the transportation organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Project Delivery and Process Optimization: Responsible for analyzing the needs of the transportation SMEs and establishing priorities for system design and implementation.
- This position requires the ability to lead teach and direct with little to no direction: Providing agile consistent leadership Managing process change Assessing business process requirements and making sound IT decisions Organizing delivering information appropriately to audiences at all levels within the company Managing against budget Managing with Agile Hybrid-Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- The Staff Analyst will be involved in the negotiation and contracts with consultants technical personnel and vendors for services and products.
- Responsible for overall quality of solutions supporting the Transportation business.
- Support: Create maintain and ensure quality of systems that support key Customer business processes. Collaborate with the functional end users vendors and IT peers to support applications system integrations and capabilities as needed.
- Document and maintain support procedures and information as needed to maintain a positive support level.
- Focus on delivering support efforts within established service level agreements to ensure department key performance indicators are met.
RequirementsEducation: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Systems or other technical area. Advanced degree in related field preferred.
Experience: 8 plus years of IT experience with emphasis on Transportation with demonstrated ability generally associated with 6 plus years progressive experience in a leadership role.
Computer Skills: Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and Visio. Must be proficient with Microsoft Project. Basic knowledge of JIRA HP Quality Center and Remedy is a plus.
Communication Skills: Excellent customer facing and communication skills including excellent written and verbal communication skill. Ability to effectively communicate technical solutions and approaches to a non-technical audience.
Special Skills: Private Fleet system experience such as McLeod TMW Comdata PeopleNet Qualcomm EDI and Manhattan Drivers Loads is desired. Experience with transportation load planning optimization and rating is desired. Experience with SAP ECC and SAP TM is a plus. Experience integrating with contract and dedicated carriers systems is a plus. Strong working knowledge of complex transportation business processes.
