The Sterile Supply Technician will clean, sterilize, decontaminate and assemble equipment, supplies, and instruments according to prescribed procedures and techniques. Wraps, labels, and seals instruments and supplies in preparation to autoclaving. Maintains inventories and provides to appropriate department heads.

Principal Responsibilities
The Sterile Supply Technician will:
- Decontaminate, assemble, sterilize and store procedure trays, instruments and supplies according to aseptic technique in adherence to safety and infection control standards
- Provide supplies and equipment to patient care areas
- Identify and address missing or broken equipment for repair or replacement
- Identify instruments for re-processing upon shelf-life expiration
- Perform quality assurance and biological tests on equipment and processes
- Document activities and quality test results
- Maintain inventories and provides to appropriate department heads.
- Educate new employees on the sterilization process.
- Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
