Strategic Planner (to the CTO)

Job Summary
As Strategic Planner for the CTO, you will specifically help create the 3-5 year view of new technologies and the strategy to help ensure these technologies are successfully adopted within the business. You will work closely with the Chief Technology Officer and CTO team to identify, curate, and disseminate relevant technologies that support Vertiv's Power, Thermal, Integrated Rack Solutions, and Service businesses. You'll also be responsible for coordinating various CTO activities and ensuring the strategy is communicated to relevant internal and external stakeholders.

The Strategic Planner is responsible for collecting market intelligence, voice of customer, and competitive insights to formulate a 3-5 year view of the market for which their business operates. From this 3-5 year view, the Strategic Planner works alongside executives and business leaders to formulate a 3-year strategy to address major threats and leverage opportunities ultimately leading to business growth. Finally, the Strategic Planner is responsible for communicating the strategy to relevant stakeholders and coordinating activities (funding, capacity planning, etc.) to help ensure successful execution.

Responsibilities :

• Establish a 3-5 year technology roadmap and strategy
• Maintain Vertiv's technology innovation funnel
• Curate and communicate market, customer, and competitor insights as it relates the responsibility of the CTO
• Create and coordinate CTO strategic communication for internal and external stakeholders
• Manage investment and capacity planning needs
• Assist with other CTO tasks as needed

Requirements :

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in a field related to technology, engineering, and/or business
• Master's Degree is preferred
• At least 3 years' experience working within a technology office or related role focused on innovation management
• Process driven, in particular as it relates to managing technology development and innovation
• Capable of analyzing and evaluating a company's business plan against ever changing market needs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint, comfortable analyzing data and communicating findings
• Capable of navigating a complex matrix organization, communicating with and influencing multiple stakeholders
• Hands-on experience working with and/or developing hardware technology, preferred
• Advance Excel skills (advance functions, data tables, etc.), preferred
