Job Summary

This position reports to the Director of Student Services.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Coordinates all administrative aspects of Media School domestic and international student travel programs, including processing applications, coordinating with faculty, completing required reports, and supporting trip orientation for student participants by planning meeting itinerary, tracking attendance, and facilitating discussion.
  • Administers the process for students to receive credit for internships, communicating with the Director of Undergraduate Studies, faculty grader, employers, and student participants.
  • Serves as trip leader for 2 short domestic student experience trips each year.
  • Coordinates the logistics of student services events, including space reservations, hospitality ordering, event setup, etc.
  • Supports recruitment efforts by making on-campus presentations to prospective students and representing The Media School at outreach events.
  • Serves as administrative liaison for Media School student organizations.
  • Collaborates with student services and undergraduate studies departments to support the school's mission.
General Responsibilities
  • Serves as a liaison to campus partners for cross-departmental student programming, providing information, securing space reservations, scheduling planning meetings, and providing necessary documentation.
  • Provides assistance to program participants, stakeholders, faculty, and/or staff; acts as a resource by analyzing information, providing documentation, and preparing reports.
  • Greets students and/or program participants; may assist with program check-in and check-out. Provides directions, support, and information to program participants.
  • Assists with daily scheduling, training, and gathering program feedback. May prepare and disseminate handouts, presentations, or other program materials.
  • Assists with ordering or creation of promotional materials to encourage student participation.
  • Takes on tasks of increasing complexity, such as performing benchmarking research of student programming at other higher education institutions or designing routine surveys to gauge student satisfaction and program effectiveness.
  • May provide guidance to other Student Programming Coordinators.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • High school diploma or GED
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree
WORK EXPERIENCE

Required
  • 4 years in office environment, higher education, or related field
Preferred
  • Experience working with undergraduate students
  • Experience making complex travel arrangements, planning events, or managing similar projects

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Bloomington, Indiana

After a training period, this position is eligible for 1 remote work day per week. The remaining days each week will be worked on campus. Availability of the remote work option is dependent on university policy and business need.

Advertised Salary

Salary will be set based on a variety of factors, but the minimum salary for this position is $40,000.

Work Hours

This position primarily works standard business hours but supports occasional evening and weekend events, scheduled well in advance.
