Overview

The Supplier Diversity Manager reports to the Senior Vice President of Supply Chain and serves as the primary focal point for all supplier diversity initiatives and responsibilities. This Manager serves as an expert in supplier diversity and works externally with diverse suppliers and diverse supplier organizational development entities such as the Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council (GMSDC), the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), Out Georgia, GHX Vendormate, Supplier Gateway, and other organizations to create, maintain, and advance a rich repository of diverse suppliers who are prepared to successfully partner with Wellstar for clinical and non-clinical supply and service needs. This leader will also work internally to ensure that all functional organizations within Wellstar are actively engaging our Supplier Diversity Council to identify and slate a candidate of qualified, diverse suppliers for all purchasing and Requests for Proposal, Requests for Quotation, or Requests for Information (RFx initiatives).Additional internal responsibilities will consist of facilitating all Supplier Diversity Council meetings, activities, and events. Formulating new programs and initiatives designed to engage the diverse supplier community and prepare them for upcoming RFx events. Developing and maintaining communication channels and content for the Wellstar Supplier Diversity web site. Reporting progress on a quarterly basis to senior management specific to Wellstar spend and program
Responsibilities

1. Facilitating and leading a. The incumbent will establish a Diverse Supplier Portal and ensure that all upcoming and applicable sourcing initiatives are presented and available to the diverse supplier community. This leader will ensure that the RFx Awarding Leader or Selection Committee is aware of these diverse suppliers and that diverse suppliers are present in all Wellstar RFx initiatives.b. The incumbent will be able to lead RFx initiatives on behalf of the Supply Chain organization, or other performing organizations such as Human Resources, Information Technology, Construction, or Marketing.c. The incumbent will lead the Supplier Diversity Team and will represent the Supply Chain Leadership function on Corporate Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) initiatives as required. This will include establishing annual goals and objectives, meeting agendas, and corresponding reporting and report out(s).d. Partner with other Health Systems to share in learnings and similar initiatives that will advance the Supplier Diversity Program at Wellstar.e. Sits on Value Analysis (VA) and Contracting teams and councils seeking opportunities to match diverse suppliers to RFx and contracting initiatives. Challenges Facilitators and Category Leaders as to ensuring inclusion in all Supply Chain RFX and contracting initiatives. Ensures that core processes specific to the RFx process and other Supply Chain business processes have Supplier Diversity "built in at inception" as opposed to an afterthought.f. Develops procedures, policies and programs as required and needed in support of the Supplier Diversity Program.40%2. Developing the diverse vendor community 40%a. The incumbent will work with GMSDC, NMSDC, and other diverse vendor organizations to cultivate and develop a large pool of qualified, diverse vendors. These vendors will be ready to successfully compete and win in the RFx Process at Wellstar.b. The incumbent will establish, host and project management Wellstar Sponsored initiatives that will cultivate and develop a diverse supplier portfolio for future utilization.c. The incumbent will work with our GPO and Cooperative partners (Vizient and Partners GPO) to:1. Represent Wellstar at initiatives designed to enhance the portfolio of diverse suppliers that Wellstar may call upon for future supply and RFx initiatives.2. Ensure that GPO and Cooperative initiatives and events are well aligned with Wellstar's mission, vision, and values as it pertains to diverse supplier development.d. Works with our diverse supplier reporting company (Supplier Gateway), our top 10 medical supplies companies, and our top construction companies to develop a Tier 2 supplier reporting program. e. Works to expand Tier 2 reporting beyond the top 10 suppliers.f. Oversees Policies, Processes and Procedures specific to the Supplier Diversity Program.g. Engages in local and national initiatives to promote the Wellstar Supplier Diversity Program.3. Reporting a. Reports out quarterly to management the diverse spend by category, and by tier.b. Reports out quarterly as to how many diverse suppliers were considered, per RFx, across the Wellstar organization.c. Other applicable reporting as required.20%Trust/Engagement Mandatory Content)a. Qualifications

Required Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree. (Preferred: Business Administration, Project, and Program Management, other)

Required Minimum Licensure/Certification: None, however a PMP (Project Management Professional Certification is highly desirable)

Required Minimum Experience: 5+ years in a leadership role, leading and facilitating small and large groups, preferably in the supplier diversity space.3+ years direct supplier diversity experience.

Required Minimum Skills: Must have strong interpersonal skills, strong computer skills, be able to multi-task, be flexible, organization skills to support a multi-site, complex system; must be comfortable facilitating leaders, and speaking to small to mid-size groups of people

Work involves frequent/routine physical activity: frequently moving about the clinical setting, office, or other facilities within the service area; frequently positioning self to access files, computers, equipment, and other objects; performing repetitive motions with wrists, hands and fingers in using office equipment; and regularly exerting up to 50 pounds of force to move objects. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate, speak, and enunciate to express / exchange ideas and detailed information in person and on the telephone. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken or written English to impart oral or written information to others and to convey detailed spoken instructions to others. Work requires a minimum standard of visual acuity, with or without correction, with the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus, i.e. shift gaze from viewing a computer monitor to forms that are closer to compare data at close vision. Occasional requirement to assist with patient care activities. Exposure to anesthetic gases, blood and body fluids, sharps, hospital grade cleaning solutions, flammable solutions etc. Hours of work fluctuate with requirement to be visible periodically on the off shift including weekends
