Surgical Technologist-Full Time-Days
Martha's Vineyard Hospital (MVH)

The primary purpose of your job is to perform a variety of duties in an operating room to assist the surgical team.

Qualifications
• High School graduate or equivalent
• Must meet at least one of the following requirements according to Chapter 371 or the Acts of 2012* (effective July 1, 2013):
1. Completed a surgical technology program and been certified (or will be certified within 12 months of completion) by an accredited entity which is recognized by both the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgical Technicians.
2. Was employed in any healthcare facility as a surgical technologist prior to July 1, 2013.
3. Completed a surgical technologist training program in the military or other public service corps.
• Has been or is currently performing surgical technologist functions for the federal government.
• A licensed/registered healthcare provider may also perform surgical technology activities without meeting the education/certification provisions of the law.
• At least one year on the job training in Operating Room Techniques.
• Must have concentrated training in the care of the patient in surgery.
