DRAGADOS USA is seeking a Survey Manager to support the construction on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel expansion project. The Survey Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating survey requirements for Civil, Marine and Tunnel works on the Project. Leading the survey team with field surveyors and office modelling/as-built personnel.

Principal/Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Staffing of the survey department along with personnel and equipment schedules based on Project Demands.
  • Ensure survey requirements are met and followed as per design and Technical Requirements.
  • Establish a project survey control plan and outline specific field and office procedures.
  • Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to accomplish survey needs and requirements.
  • Coordinate survey crews and resources to support field operations
  • Fully knowledgeable and user of the common survey equipment, software, and survey systems in performing and managing project surveying for the construction of the project
  • Construction survey set out, processing and as-builts.
  • Perform/supervise regular hydrographic surveys for dredging and material placement.
  • TBM Guidance and as-built reports.
  • Prepare survey submittals as needed for review by the EOR
  • Ensure Safety Procedures are followed by survey crews

Basic Qualifications

  • Prefer Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, Civil Engineering or Survey
  • 5-10 years' experience in Construction Survey
  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
  • Dynamic thinker with abilities to address and solve survey challenges associated with construction operations
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microstation
  • While performing essential job functions, the employee is required to frequently inspect and supervise job operations and may be exposed to ongoing construction; Ability to access all areas of a jobsite is required for the position
  • Proficient computer knowledge
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines; Work overtime and weekends as required
  • Perform work safely and effectively
  • Familiar with Trimble Business Center interface
  • Hydrographic scan basic knowledge is preferred
  • Previous experience in TBM guidance, preferable with VMT
  • Familiar with RTK positioning
