Overview

Summary of Responsibilities:

The SVP, Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing the overall marketing strategy for Touchstone Investments. Working closely with all areas of the firm, develops strategies that will drive sales and profitable growth of the business, including campaigns, events, digital strategies, data leverage, SalesForce/CRM leverage, branding, and all content and marketing materials. Responsible for building the Touchstone marketing team with skills and resources necessary to execute and implement the Touchstone marketing strategy, achieving short-term initiatives and long-term strategic objectives. The SVP, Marketing will be expected to engage extensively and collaboratively with the CEO and leaders of Touchstone Distribution, Research and Product efforts to ensure the marketing strategy is aligned with and integrated into the business plan while reflecting the needs of the sales force and leveraging the expertise and capabilities of product and investment staff.
Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with senior management, sales team, business unit heads and portfolio managers to develop annual marketing strategic plan, including generation of sales and marketing ideas and materials for products, programs, promotions and campaigns. Develops concepts and strategies and makes appropriate recommendations.
  • Develops marketing strategies and tactics for different addressable markets and distribution channels.
  • Works with business unit heads to determine aspirational competitors, oversees monitoring of associated marketing collateral and websites and recommends appropriate changes to business development techniques, marketing strategies and product designs.
  • Develops and implements an integrated plan to amplify the Touchstone brand and drive all marketing activities to ensure on-brand positioning and awareness across all aspects of the marketing mix, inbound and outbound
  • Leads and drives marketing communication, ensures clear and powerful messages about the product, brand and value proposition to each market segment.
  • Defines and coordinates marketing programs for demand creation and lead generation with our Sales team, and implements lead-tracking and management processes.
  • Evaluates ongoing information needs of intermediary clients and tailor content, production frequency and delivery mechanisms accordingly. Differentiates content requirements to facilitate sales from those to retain clients and assets.
  • Manages all aspects of marketing planning, budgeting, metrics and reporting.
  • Utilizes market and competitive research to segment and define target markets, refine and improve the product value proposition and implement the best market-penetration strategy.
  • Manages external agencies and relationships with marketing services.
  • Develops and maintains long-term relationships with industry thought-leaders, marketing associations and advisors.
  • Drives our digital marketing positioning.
  • Executes online and offline marketing campaigns customized to fill and grow the lead pipeline with high-quality leads.
  • Plans, organizes and executes various marketing events such as prospect and customer events, conferences and exhibitions.
  • Produces high-quality content for our customers such as market surveys, Webinars, Whitepaper, Case Studies, Blogs, Audio/Podcasts, Videos, etc.
  • Measures the performance of all activities and campaigns, assesses them against goals (ROI, Key Performance Indicators) and adjusts strategy and activities to achieve them.
  • Oversees the RFP/RFI response team facilitating the information needs of institutional and other large investors.
  • Directs development of audience-tailored and highly effective flyers, direct mail pieces, brochures, presentations, research, website marketing initiatives, multimedia initiatives and management reports.
  • Drives communications and messaging regarding fund actions to key internal and external stakeholders including shareholders, financial professionals, broker-dealer firms, instiuttional clients and the media.
  • Works collaboratively with Compliance to ensure materials disseminated to clients, potential clients and consultants comply with applicable regulations.
  • Interacts with and understands all production chains, including legal, compliance, production, public relations, purchasing, accounting and any other entities that effect project processes and completion.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Selection Criteria:
  • Proven experience (15 years or more) and a track record of success in developing, executing and driving marketing initiatives within the financial services industry, preferably in the mutual fund business.
  • Works well in a fast-paced, growth environment and can operate effectively with limited management oversight.
  • Proven in-depth knowledge in marketing communications, public relations, business development, sales support, events, and website/digital management.
  • Proven success coordinating public and media relations, either working directly or through shared services.
  • Proven strong leadership, mentoring, motivational and creative qualities to direct and develop a staff of professionals.
  • Proven ability to assess current and future sales and marketing opportunities to achieve business unit objectives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FINRA and SEC rules and regulations regarding communications with the public.
  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear, focused and concise manner.
  • Proven excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, including experience in independently identifying challenges and providing effective resolutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to be collegial, collaborative, transparent and constructively competitive.
Work Setting:
  • Works in an office setting and remains continuously in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
  • Requires visual acuity to read a variety of correspondence, reports and forms and to prepare and analyze data.
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration with a concentration in marketing and/or corporate communications.
Computer Skills and Knowledge of Hardware & Software Required:
  • Proficient in word processing, presentation software and spreadsheet applications with ability to create charts, graphs and reports.
  • Experience with Seismic, SalesForce, Tableau and other industry CRM, marketing and data management/ visualization tools preferred.
Certifications & Licenses (i.e., Series 6 & 63, CPA, etc.):
  • Series 24.
Position Demands:
  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects, some travel required.
  • Based in Cincinnati, OH.
