What You Will Contribute:


The Systems Engineer is an early-experience technical position with the primary focus of managing the entire lifecycle of over-the-air (OTA) updates. This position will secondarily assist with creating and developing models, aggregating data or monitoring systems, documenting dashboards and models, and participate actively in investigations. This position applies fundamental knowledge to basic investigations and identifies unexpected outcomes.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Manage, implement, and monitor Over-The-Air (OTA) updates for our cellular product line.
  • Ensure all procedures, approvals, documentation, and progressive rollouts are handled per the OTA approval process.
  • Report anomalies to more senior engineers and/or participate in the follow-up efforts in reaction to the anomaly.
  • Verify applicability of an OTA update to devices, execute OTA tasks and communicate the status of the OTA updates with all necessary teams and departments.
  • Create and monitor dashboards, product support issues, customer troubleshooting, etc. with minimal oversight.
  • Perform testing and verification of systems, cleaning of data and maintenance of infrastructure.
  • Assist in defining visualizations, monitors, and models.
  • Write procedures and at times validate, audit or review procedures.
  • Work within the JIRA system to initiate and implement tickets.
  • Define and create components or portions of a larger project.
  • Participate actively on project teams, at times serving as the project lead, providing input into project schedules, budgets and risks.
  • Represent the data team on projects or investigations, and at times will work under the mentorship of a more senior engineer on a larger team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with engineering fundamentals.
  • The ability to work autonomously and self-directed is required.
  • Experience with SQL, noSQL, Python (Jupyter Notebooks), Elasticsearch, C#, or other programming languages in addition to experience with AWS S3 and DynamoDB.
  • Experience with statistics, econometrics, machine learning, or other mathematical modeling and simulation techniques.
  • Experience with data visualization or business intelligence (BI) tools.
  • Understanding of database concepts and structures.
  • Ability to work through problems by defining, testing, troubleshooting and then implement appropriate solutions while communicating results and outcomes.
  • Solid Product knowledge preferred.
