Job Summary

A Technical Services Engineer is responsible for assuring that Nordson EFD customers receive outstanding, knowledgeable technical support on the operation of all EFD products. This includes responding to customer inquiries for technical data, requests for customers' corrective actions, and providing product complex training/trouble shooting and installations in the Americas.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Support

  • Communicates with customers, international sales groups, R&D and marketing regarding technical and product issues
  • Travels to support customers and Sales as needed.
  • Supports worldwide sales groups in all technical areas such as complex troubleshooting customer process problems and recommending top product solutions.


Sales Support
  • Attend top customer meetings, trade shows, and other pertinent meetings as requested to help provide technical knowledge as needed.
  • Aids with providing product training to all sales groups with main focus on tops.
  • Assists with preparing documents and/or performing customer dispensing application trials


Corrective Action Process
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams in resolution of quality or manufacturing issues effecting customers
  • Helps coordinate customer problem resolution with engineering, customer service, sales, R&D, Quality Assurance and other personnel.


Product Onsite paid Installation Training
  • Equipment installtion of top products at top customer locations.
  • Assists with initial application development, testing, quoting, negotiation and installation.


Product Development
  • Helps review technical content of product manuals, technical support information and sales brochures.
  • Assists with development and implementation of product training tools.
  • Participates in New Product Development process by providing insight on real world product usage by customers.


Education and Experience Requirements
  • BS in Engineering or a related field with 2+ years of related experience. Equivalent years of work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experienced in a technical sales facing and application support role/environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service, action-orientation required.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, and a professional demeanor with a high energy level and the ability to adapt effectively in a dynamic changing environment.
  • Experienced supporting EFD product line and TTA platform programing.
  • Must possess above average problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications required

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Office and laboratory environments. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and on occasion up to 75 pounds.
