Zurich (San Francisco, CA) seeks a Technology Senior Underwriter to be responsible for underwriting and analyzing new and renewal business utilizing The Zurich Way of Underwriting framework on assignment of higher technical complexity and coordination. Specific duties include: collate and analyze data using The Zurich Way of Underwriting to support the decision to provide new and renewal underwriting business; administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating annual rules; develop, maintain and collaborate with Line of Business representatives on referrals and other business needs; provide guidance to lower level associates; develop and maintain relationships with distributors; supports the sales culture by being a Help Point for agents, brokers and customers; proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities; identify growth opportunities; qualify accounts to meet with the organization's appetite, balanced with sound business opportunity; negotiate Terms and Conditions and close deals; document files in accordance with underwriting guidelines; cross-sell other lines of business to increase product density with the account; proactively engage in the target account process; serve as key Zurich contact for assigned target accounts; calculate Target Price accurately; measure exposures/analyze risk; quote and set coverage, negotiate terms and conditions; participate in marketing presentations; provide technical advice that enables a customer to solve a problem or improve business; develop and maintain positive customer relationships by meeting regularly with customers; anticipate customer needs, monitor trends in order to recommend changes; and work on various projects towards underwriter, employee, or business development. Position requires 20% travel within the U.S. Option to work remotely is available.

Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Business, Science, Biology Science, or a closely related field of study, plus 5 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Senior Underwriter, Underwriter, Underwriting Assistant, or similar position in underwriting. Must have 5 years of experience working with an International Program or Global underwriting. Must also have 3 years of experience with each of the following: using Salesforce including pipeline management, underwriting referrals, and account management; and utilizing various underwriting software programs and resources including EFile, iDocs, ReferenceConnect, and MIA (Multi-national Insurance Application). Additionally, specific experience must include 2 years with each of the following: underwriting package lines including GL, Auto, and Property; underwriting Cyber line; working within Large Casualty with experience with Large Deductibles, SIR's, and Captive programs; and working with International Reverse Flow Underwriting services. Must be willing to travel within the U.S. 20% of the time. Option to work remotely is available. Salary: $145,250/yr.
