D6 Locations hiring: North Platte Region including Wallace, Broken Bow Region including Ansley/Oconto/Arnold, Lexington Region including Gothenburg, Mullen Region including Arthur/Hyannis/Stapleton/Thedford, Ogallala Region including Big Springs Summer positions, temporary, until November 30, 2023. Hours may depend on weather, or activity may be more or less than 40 hours per week.

Examples of Work
Be part of NDOT as a teammate! Duties may include operating equipment to mow and trim vegetation on NDOT Right of Way. Perform pavement preservation activities or Traffic control procedures. May assist in the maintenance and care of the State Highway system or its infrastructure. Be a crew member for Roadway Striping Operations, a Fence Repair Crew or a Sign Maintenance Crew repairing roadside features. May assist in repairing or maintaining pavement, culverts, or bridges. Manually provide highway traffic control by Flagging traffic around a work zone or driving a pilot vehicle.

May install temporary traffic control signs or devices or responding to emergency situations to assist in traffic incident management. May perform routine care or maintenance to the department's fleet. Perform activities following department safety procedures. Safely remove objects from roadway under traffic. May perform other duties as assigned as deemed necessary. Drive department vehicles or equipment as trained for Transportation Maintenance and Operations activities.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license.

OTHER: Regular and reliable attendance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be able to safely move, drag, lift 35 pounds frequently, up to 60 pounds occasionally (without assistance), and 90 or more pounds infrequently (with assistance); climb, bend, or stoop; work in outdoor temperature extremes and work around high-speed traffic.

Must be able to be reached to report to work outside scheduled work hours for highway emergencies within 30 minutes of notification.
