Law360 is seeking an editor to oversee our training and professional development program. This editor will work directly with new reporter hires and existing staff to improve their reporting and writing, teach them how to find scoops in court dockets, and give them a better grasp of legal procedures and terminology. This editor will also introduce new reporters to our newsroom and our style, manage and update our training resources, and provide additional training and guidance to those who need it.

This position can be performed anywhere within the United States.

Required:

  • At least two years of editing or reporting experience for a legal audience
  • 3+ years demonstrated reporting, writing and editing skills

Preferences:
  • Experience creating and maintaining a training program or working in a teaching environment
  • Experience editing basic news stories or other copy for public consumption, including hard news and simple profiles and features
  • Light software skills
  • Experience managing large databases, spreadsheets and other forms of data sets

Qualified candidates may be asked to complete writing and editing tests electronically.

Law360 offers extensive training on legal topics. Business or legal reporting experience is not required. However, professional reporting experience and strong writing and analytical skills are required to succeed in this job.
