JOB SUMMARY:
The Training Specialist is responsible for developing, facilitating, and supervising the programs
and employees of the Training Department. Accountable for coordinating training activities,
ensuring training compliance, and continual improvements and implementation of processes and
procedures that enhance the effectiveness of the workforce.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Achieves department objectives by managing Training Team employees; planning and
evaluating department activities.
• Accomplishes team results by communicating expectations; planning, and monitoring
results. Coaches, counsels, disciplines, and appraises when appropriate.
• Develop knowledge and professional growth opportunities for Training Team employees.
• Coordinates and enforces systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
• Identify and assess the training needs of the organization through job analysis.
• Responsible for coordinating and ensuring all plant employees complete all necessary
training curriculum in a timely manner.
• Ensure training schedule is prepared and timely communicated to all necessary parties.
• Ensure training is conducted by Subject Matter Experts and daily confirm all training
presenters are available/present to conduct training(s).
• Ensure training compliance, record keeping, training profiles, audits, reports, tracking,
paperwork, and assignments are completed and submitted to the appropriate parties in a
timely manner.
• Proactively work with production leaders to anticipate and communicate employee
training needs.
• Conduct Peer Trainer Certification classes to certify employees as peer trainers.
• Serve as a liaison between corporate and plant Training Departments to ensure the
communication and standardization of company-wide updates and implementations.
• Assist the Corporate Training Department with assigned training projects.
• Purchases, organizes, and maintains training and development resources and equipment
for the plant.
• Continually update, develop, and ensure the standardization in training experience,
curriculum, processes, tools, and materials.
• Manage the administration, documentation, and coordination of Training Department
processes and procedures, ensuring all documentation, forms, and classes are up-to-date
for all positions and in accordance with all approved Standard Documents.
• Identify opportunities for improvement, raise issues accordingly, and proactively develop
and implement effective and purposeful training solutions.
• Keep abreast of training trends, developments, and best practices.
• Role model of the CITE Principles and Core Values in a union-free environment.

• Provide a safe and productive work environment, including housekeeping.

• Supports all areas of the operations including Production, Quality and Materials areas.
• Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Required Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Superb track record in developing and executing successful training programs.
• Critical thinker with innovative problem-solving skills.

• Ability to identify cabinet types, wood species, finishes, drawer front types & styles.
• Ability to use basic math concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to use & read a standard tape measure.


Required Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in business or Education related discipline, required.
• 2-5 years of experience in a training or development role, required.
• Highly computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office products, required.
• Video editing and computer-based training development experience, recommended.
• 1 year of experience in a production or manufacturing role, recommended.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish, recommended.



Required Physical Ability:
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Frequent bending, crouching, pulling & pushing
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.


WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Working in an indoor environment with excessive hot, humid, and cold temperatures.
• Protective safety gear will be required including safety glasses, gloves, and other.
• The noise level is usually moderate to high.
• Occasional overtime and weekend work, required.
