Dow has an exciting opening for a Training Specialist at the Orange, Texas location within Sabine River Operations (SRO).

Supports the TES Quality Group training program, ensuring department training documentation is current and up to date. Supports the annual training program review with department leadership, as needed. Supports the development and implementation of training material. Requires established basic technical skills to perform a range of routine work activities using existing processes and methods.

Responsibilities / Duties

* Ensures local, global, and business curriculums are assigned in line with needs and requirements.
* Acts as the subject matter resource for the learning system and coaches employees on how to access and utilize learning resources.
* Provides feedback on global curriculum and supports local implementation of global Instructor Led courses, as appropriate.
* Collects technical content from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and creates appropriate materials to be used in field training, electronic or Instructor led training settings using research-based adult learning methods
* Coordinates plant/department resources for delivery of training
* Partners with key stakeholders to develop and maintain employee specific training schedules and plans.
* Ensures all required employee training records are up-to-date and maintained. Works with training coordinator to track compliance and communicates overdue training to deliver 100% training compliance. Performs other audit related reporting.
* Develop training and training review boards for technician certification, & teach skills to personnel.
* Works with management of change (MOC) owners to ensure that training related requirements are achieved.
* Maintains subject matter expertise relative to assigned learning resources.

**The Dow Chemical Company does not offer relocation for this position. Reimbursement for travel to and from interviews or medical appointments (if an offer is made) is also not covered. Candidates are responsible for all travel cost that incur.**

Required Qualifications:

* Must be 18 years old or older.
* A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of

U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

* Experience with training and development

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Good interpersonal skills are required.
* Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
* Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.
* A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
* Must be able to read, write, and speak English.


Physical Requirements:

Must be willing and able to do the following with or without a reasonable accommodation.
* Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes
* Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.
* Stand or walk for extended periods of time.

Education:

* A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
