Transportation Coordinator

Our client, a small business located near West Chicago, is looking for a Transportation Coordinator to join their busy and growing team! This is a temporary-to-hire position and required to work in the office Monday-Friday.

Job Description

• Answer incoming phone calls for business.
• Respond to emails in a timely fashion.
• Maintain transportation and emails.
• Manage / coordinate transportation schedule for drivers.
• Create PO's for vendors.
• Communicate with customers on deliveries.
• Process bills of lading and provide clear instructions to the team for handling each shipment.

Requirements:

• Basic knowledge of principles and practices of inventory management and control.
• Effective communication with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to read sufficiently to understand basic written instructions.
• Ability to deal calmly and rationally in stressful, last-minute and problematic situations, not losing control or letting emotions direct actions or words.
• Ability to prioritize and meet customer needs in a timely fashion.
