Job Description

  • Establish sales goals and create incentive programs based on corporate goals and forecast
  • Assist in corporate strategic planning process
  • Develop strategies for generating new business opportunities
  • Build distribution channel to penetrate and grow market share
  • Drive segmental sales
  • Develop and pursue new OEM instrumentation distribution partnerships as well as maintain current global instrumentation distribution relationships
  • Frequently coordinate and collaborate on Global Sales Initiatives with International Sales Team
  • Maintain strategic priority integrity with the Global Sales Plan by keeping the U.S. Sales team in sync with larger corporate objectives
  • Establish strategic business relationships with all accounts and key customers
  • Assist in evaluation and integration planning for potential M&A activity
  • Establish commission and incentive plan for team and work with finance team to monitor and track throughout year
  • Assists sales representatives with maintaining relationships, negotiating, and closing deals
  • Provide reports to management that include market conditions, route reports, expenses, sales targets, closes and losses in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide management with forecasts and long-term plans for the achievement of budget and quota objectives
  • Conduct well organized product presentations and demonstrations to customers as well as at conventions
  • Attend conventions, sales meetings and training programs as requested by management
  • Maintain sales personnel by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
  • Lead GSD Sales and Marketing objectives by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees to pursue and achieve desired objectives in accordance with established plans and schedules
  • Plan and conduct regular Sales and Marketing meetings
  • Plan for the development and career path of Sales and Marketing employees
  • Support and direct the application of marketing and promotional activities
  • Track and support Regulatory and Quality functions or needs per GSD Quality System Manual
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

The Ideal Candidate would possess:
  • Previous diagnostic instrumentation experience
  • Previous sales management experience
  • Prior experience in business development
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Internet Explorer, Chrome, or Firefox
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software experience
  • Must be willing and able to learn other software programs as needed
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and negotiating skills
  • Strong business planning abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Exceptional customer service and strong sense of professionalism
  • Ability to meet and exceed sales goals
  • Knowledge and experience in the healthcare industry
  • Knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations (cGMP) and International Standards (ISO) pertaining to medical devices
  • Ability to learn new & existing instrumentation and software technology
  • Must be able and willing to adhere to corporation personnel policies and practices, including attendance and punctuality requirements
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in business or a related field; Master's degree preferred (Biological science degree also considered)
  • At least 10 years previous work experience in a similar position required
  • Ability to travel on short notice for periods of up to one or two weeks
  • Must be able to coordinate own travel arrangements when traveling to customer or distributor sites
  • Technical knowledge of Immunochemistry & ELISA testing
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
