Position: Intern - Lockout-Tagout Procedures and Hazardous Energy Control Program • Part Time

Location: Elkhorn, NE

Duration: Est. 6 months, starting mid-March

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) Procedures:

  • Collaborate with experienced professionals to implement and execute LOTO procedures.
  • Participate in equipment isolation processes to ensure the safety of personnel during maintenance and servicing activities.
  • Conduct regular inspections to verify the effectiveness of LOTO measures and make necessary adjustments.
2. Hazardous Energy Control Program Support:
  • Work closely with the safety team to enhance and maintain the Hazardous Energy Control Program.
  • Assist in the identification and assessment of energy sources and associated risks.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of control measures to minimize hazards related to energy sources.
3. Documentation and Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate records of LOTO procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports related to the Hazardous Energy Control Program.
  • Support the organization in maintaining up-to-date documentation of equipment energy sources and control methods.
4. Training and Awareness:
  • Participate in safety training sessions related to LOTO and hazardous energy control.
  • Contribute to the development of educational materials to raise awareness among plant personnel.
  • Assist in conducting training sessions for employees on LOTO procedures and safe work practices.
5. Continuous Improvement:
  • Actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety processes.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for enhancing the effectiveness of LOTO procedures and the Hazardous Energy Control Program.

Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor•s or master•s degree program in an engineering or science field of study
  • Ability to work 20-25 hours a week on-site at facility, 4-6 hours a day
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to LOTO (OSHA) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical processes and cGMP standards is a plus.
