JOB SUMMARY:
A Yard Jockey will use yard trucks to move trailers around within a parking lot.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


* Accurately interpret common business documents such as packing lists, manifests bills of lading, pallet tickets, job orders, production labels, and trailer paperwork
* Synchronize trailers in accordance with carrier, production schedule, and logistics
* Maintain familiarity with trailer placement and lot layout
* Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on yard trucks and inspect trailers
* Maintain a safe work environment, including housekeeping
* Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills and Abilities:


* Ability to use basic math concepts and read a standard tape measure

Required Education and Experience:


* High school diploma or G.E.D.
* Valid driver’s license

Required Physical Ability:


* Prolonged periods of sitting on a yard truck and use of repetitive motions
* Regularly lift and/or move up to 30lb, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lb
