Overview
Cimpls Meats, LLC, an American Foods Group company, has an opportunity for a Yards Worker at our Yankton, SD plant.

As a Yards Worker, you will:

• Use approved driving device and live animal scale to facilitate unloading of animals.
• Weigh and record all incoming and outgoing cattle and weights.
• Use approved driving device to move cattle from pen to pen, or pen to knock tub/chute.
• Use approved driving device to move cattle from chute into the knock box.
• Use skid loader, tractor, and paper shredder to clean and re-bed pens.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Required):

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must be able to perform the job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to work extended scheduled hours Monday through Saturday with daily overtime. Must be able to work overtime as required. Start times and hours vary based on production needs.
• Must be able to work in the cold for long periods of time.
• Must be willing to work on-call when needed.
• Experience using humane animal handling techniques.
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English (speak, read, and write).
• Must be able to successfully complete training:
  • Safety.
  • Safe Quality Food (SQF).
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Food defense.
  • Humane Handling.
  • Skid Loader.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior work experience in a USDA inspected beef, poultry, or pork facility.
• Prior production experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate in Spanish (speak, read, and write).
• Work history in the last 12 months.
• Experience operating a skid-loader.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Working knowledge in safety procedures.
• Maintain organization in daily tasks and complete paperwork.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic maintenance knowledge and skills.
• Ability to display a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Ability to perform job duties with minimal direction.
• Must be a self-starter.
