How you can make a bigger difference:

The Jewish Board's Community Behavioral Health treatment programs provide compassionate, high quality, evidence-based services to individuals and families in the communities we serve. Our staff uses a culturally competent, person centered approach to help individuals and their families develop skills and resources to improve overall functioning, to instill hope, and to strengthen resiliency. Our programs work closely with community partners to address health disparities in our neighborhoods while also celebrating the strengths and resilience of our communities.

Family and Youth Peer Support (FYPS) Services support and empower parents/caregivers of children and youth (birth - age 24) who are experiencing social, emotional, developmental, substance use, and/or behavioral challenges, and the children and youth themselves. This program is part of a network of FYPS programs throughout New York City. The network consists of five non-profit organizations (one in each borough); each of these organizations establishes and coordinates an Alliance that consists of the prime contractor and subcontracting organizations within their service area which, all together, will provide a comprehensive range of formal and informal community-based family and youth support services.

Develop and provide a range of formal and informal support services to youth designed to help youth attain their stated goals and improve functioning. Based on youth's strengths, need and challenges, youth advocates work with youth to expand the skills and strategies necessary to move forward in meeting their personal, individualized life goals to support their transitioning into adulthood. Using the agreed upon data system, document demographic data on all individuals seen, document and track youth's goals, and all services provided to youth; participate in training and quality improvement activities.
